HYPER Meran
A HydroSolid HYPER protects a residential building in Meran against regular grid outages and enables an average degree of self-sufficiency of over 95 percent in the summer months.

A private customer’s house in Meran is the last one in the village connected to the power grid and is regularly affected by power outages. To bridge these, the customer wanted a self-sufficient, island-capable energy module that can later be expanded with hydrogen — in order to also close any supply gaps in winter.
A 30 kWp photovoltaic system was already installed on site, with its feed-in power limited to 10 kW before the HYPER was installed. Due to the consumption profile, the customer was previously able to use only about half of the solar power generated.
HydroSolid’s contribution
The customer had an old hydrogen system that was no longer functional. HydroSolid dismantled it and replaced it with a HydroSolid HYPER with 180 kWh storage capacity and 15 kVA apparent power. The HYPER is installed as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
The technical team spent two days on site, installed the HYPER and networked it with the existing PV system. Commissioning was carried out together with the electrician responsible for the building installation. HYD.OS was then activated — since then, the customer has been able to monitor and control their energy flows themselves.
