HydroSolid is delighted to conclude its joint pilot project with the Austrian Federal Forests, supplying critical infrastructure with clean energy.
As part of the "Hydrogen self-sufficient" project, the Luegberg hut in Waidhofen an der Ybbs was equipped with an innovative energy system that combines photovoltaics, batteries and our HYDROSOLID® HIVE hydrogen storage to provide power self-sufficiently, emission-free and reliably whenever needed.
The official handover of the plant to the Federal Forests took place in early September 2025 — together with partners from the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). This project impressively demonstrates how green hydrogen technology combines security of supply with climate protection and can serve as a flagship example for use in remote or critical infrastructure.
