Since 16 September 2026, HYDROSOLID has been represented by HIVE at the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology. The new exhibition “POWER FORWARD – Technologies for a changing energy system” shows how innovative storage solutions and intelligent energy management are advancing the energy transition. Our contribution demonstrates how hydrogen can be stored using the patented RSH2 nanopolymer.
How can renewable energy be made available when it is needed? This is the question explored by the new Innovation Corner presentation, created by the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology together with VERBUND. Following the opening chapter, “POWER ON”, the focus now shifts to energy storage and flexibility. Start-ups, established companies and research institutions showcase their solutions for an energy system increasingly based on wind and solar power.
With HIVE, we are contributing our hydrogen storage technology to this exhibition. The exhibit illustrates how our patented RSH2 nanopolymer works with the HIVE storage system and explains the differences compared with high-pressure and liquid hydrogen storage. Inside HIVE, RSH2 enables hydrogen to be stored at an operating pressure of just 35 bar. The storage material contains no rare earths.
Lukas Renz, CEO and co-founder of HYDROSOLID, attended the opening ceremony on 15 September 2026. The evening brought together representatives from business, research and innovation and offered an opportunity to exchange ideas about technologies for the energy supply of the future.
For us, the presentation at the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology is a special opportunity to introduce our development to a broad audience. The energy transition also needs places where new technologies become easy to understand. Our exhibit shows what is behind HIVE and the contribution hydrogen storage can make.
